CHINESE NEW YEAR AT FAR & EAST AT FOUR SEASONS HOTEL BENGALURU

Traditional offerings to celebrate Lunar New Year

Chinese New Year is one of the most important holidays in China and marks the onset of the lunar calendar. People usually gather for a family reunion at this time, spring clean their house to sweep away ill-fortune and to make way for incoming good luck. Children look forward to receiving red packets of money for good luck. But, the central point in all the celebrations is most certainly the food.

Four Seasons Hotel Bengaluru will be showcasing a special Chinese New Year menu from February 11 to 21, 2021 by Chef Leong Then. Having passionately crafted the special menu, Chef Leong says that this is his 39th Chinese New Year in the midst of bustling operations and away from home. “When our families are at home and celebrating, we are busy crafting Chinese New Year specialities. It is a joy to be able to share some of these time-honoured recipes with guests and patrons.”

Far & East is the Hotel’s avant garde Asian brasserie on Level 21, a favourite with guests who like to come and enjoy authentic Chinese, Japanese and Thai dishes here.

The special menu features dishes such as the Chinese New Year sarah lohi with pineapple, carrot, daikon, bell pepper, taro, sweet potato, lotus root, peanut, sesame seed and plum sauce, one of the emblematic dishes that is believed to bring good luck and fortune. Other specials are Hong Kong-style roasted duck, hot pot to share, yipin pot, fried tiger prawns and more.
